Background

As part of a relocation initiative, a representative office of an Australian state government moved to a new, modern space in central Tokyo. With a team of around 20 staff, the client sought to build a reliable, functional workplace with flexible meeting spaces – all within a tightly controlled budget.

Past issues with network reliability, particularly with Wi-Fi performance in the previous office, were a key driver for the upgrade.

mtc provided AV and IT infrastructure consulting, installation, and support throughout the relocation project. Our team worked closely with the client’s IT network provider to design a resilient, high-performance network – with special emphasis on resolving prior wireless coverage issues.

Scope of Work:

  • Site assessment, design and deployment of a wireless access point (WAP) layout using Ekahau for predictive planning and post-installation verification.
  • Assistance with network configuration and troubleshooting to optimize performance and eliminate interference or coverage gaps.
  • AV design for multiple meeting spaces, reusing legacy displays and AV hardware where suitable, and supplying new equipment to meet current needs.
  • On-site installation, configuration, and user training to ensure ease of use and smooth transition into the new environment.

Results

  • Wi-Fi performance improved significantly, with full coverage and stable connectivity throughout the new office – verified by professional Ekahau survey tools and real-world testing.
