mtc was brought in late in the project, during the final stages of construction. Despite the compressed schedule, mtc was tasked with designing, coordinating, and delivering a complete suite of workplace technology services across IT infrastructure, audiovisual systems, and physical security.

Project Scope: Full-Stack Workplace Technology Integration

1. IT Infrastructure Design and Deployment

mtc worked closely with the client’s international IT team to implement a reliable and scalable network infrastructure. This included server room design, structured cabling, hardware specification, and rack deployment across multiple floors. Special care was taken to meet the cleanroom IT requirements, ensuring secure integration between general office systems and satellite production environments.

2. IT and AV Integration for Meeting and Event Spaces

The client’s hybrid collaboration needs were addressed with AV systems installed in a variety of environments:

Meeting rooms with video conferencing and content sharing
An all-hands space for company events and internal briefings
Easy-to-use AV controls designed for non-technical users

All systems were standardized to align with the company’s global IT and AV framework, with customized layouts and bilingual user interfaces to support daily operations in Japan.

3. Physical Security and Access Control

mtc also delivered a multi-layered security system, including access control for secure zones, CCTV coverage, and integration with the building’s overall security plan. Coordination was required between building management, general contractors, and the client’s global compliance team to ensure regulatory alignment and operational safety.

The client’s stakeholders were based in Japan, Singapore, the US, and Europe, and most project communication took place in English. Meanwhile, construction and local implementation teams operated primarily in Japanese. mtc served as the bilingual project coordinator, facilitating daily communication between the client’s global team and Japan-based trades, designers, and vendors.

Following the successful handover of the initial installation, mtc has continued to provide support and additional project services as Astroscale expands its operations in Japan. As new teams were onboarded and additional space was built out across five floors, mtc returned to provide system expansion, equipment upgrades, and technical advisory services. The continuity of support ensured that new installations remained compatible with the original infrastructure, both technically and visually.

mtc also assisted the client with the planning and execution of system lifecycle maintenance, including equipment documentation, firmware management, and replacement planning. This approach helps reduce future disruption and aligns with the company’s long-term growth and compliance strategy.
