Project Engineer (AV system)
About the Job
Based in Tokyo, mtc supports the development of office and technology environments for foreign-affiliated companies. As our team grows, we are currently seeking a CAD Operator.
This position involves more than just creating drawings. You will be involved in the entire project, observing how the drawings you create are brought to life on-site.
This role is ideal for those with experience in architectural or interior design who are looking to expand their career into technology fields such as IT and AV.
About mtc
mtc is a consulting and construction firm that provides technical support for the office environments of foreign-affiliated and global companies.
We focus on the “inner workings” of offices.
Network Infrastructure: Design and installation of information cabling, fiber optics, and server racks for entire floors
Conference Rooms & Collaboration Environments: Design and installation of large displays, projectors, video conferencing systems, and audio equipment
AV Integration: System integration using global brands such as Crestron and Biamp
Access Control & Surveillance Cameras: Design and installation of security systems
Smart Office Technology: Lighting control, digital signage, and integration with workplace management systems
Our clients are primarily globally renowned foreign-affiliated companies. We handle numerous projects involving the complete construction of technology environments from scratch during office relocations, new office openings, and renovations.
Unlike typical construction or electrical contracting firms, we handle everything in-house—from design and consulting to installation and post-installation support. Our strength lies in taking full responsibility for completing projects ourselves rather than outsourcing them to subcontractors, which is why our clients trust us.
Project sites are primarily located in office buildings throughout Tokyo. You’ll have the opportunity to experience firsthand how design drawings are transformed into actual spaces.
Job Description
As a member of the project team, you will be responsible for tasks ranging from drawing creation to on-site verification for IT and AV installation projects at foreign-affiliated corporate offices.

At least 1 year of on-site experience in architecture, interior design, mechanical/electrical systems, or telecommunications
■ Preferred Qualifications
Practical experience in architectural or interior design
Experience in construction management support or on-site coordination
Experience with IT/AV-related construction projects

What Makes This Job Appealing
Seeing Drawings Take Shape on Site: You can personally verify how the drawings you create are reflected in the actual construction. This is an environment where design and the construction site are not separated.
Technology-Centric Projects: You will work with networks, AV systems, and the latest office technologies. This differs from typical interior construction work. You will naturally acquire technical knowledge through your work on drawings.
Global-standard work processes: Since our work primarily involves foreign clients, we emphasize clear documentation, logical explanations, and transparent progress management. This is an environment that does not rely on seniority.
Expanded career opportunities: While you will join as a CAD operator, future career advancement to project engineer or construction manager is possible.
Flat and open workplace: Our team includes members of various nationalities and backgrounds. There are no dress or hairstyle restrictions; we do not have a suit culture.
